Obi-Wan Kenobi will have a second season?

The series of Obi-Wan Kenobi will come to an end on Wednesday, June 22. Although this production was originally created with only six episodes in mind, fans wonder if we will have a second season or not. In this way, both the writer of the series, as well as several members involved with this project, have revealed whether this will be the case or not.

In an interview with Variety, Joby Harold, main writer of obi-wan Kenobi pointed out that he would love to work in a second season of the series . However, he for the moment he cannot talk about the future of the show. This was what he commented:

They constantly ask me about it. I have been thinking about this for so long, as a closed story, that my mind is as concentrated in this as a kind of [series], that I have not thought further. But he is a great character. All are incredible characters.

I can’t talk about any of these questions. But I love Star Wars, and the experience of working at Star Wars has not changed that in any way. He has only become a bigger part of my life, and I feel lucky to be part of it.

Fortunately, Harold is not the only one who wants to see more of this character. Deborah Chow, the director of the series, received a similar question in an interview with Radiotime.com, where she mentioned that there are still 10 years of content that they can count before a New Hope begins :

It is a great story with a beginning, a medium and an end. So I think this story was largely conceived to be independent. I mean, of course, there are more stories you could tell. Obviously, there are another 10 years before we get to New Hope and with a character like Obi-Wan Kenobi, I think even seeing him ride for the sand is sometimes interesting. Then, who knows? It’s hard to say right now, but it wasn’t the intention.

Finally, Ewan McGregor, the actor who plays the owner Obi-Wan Kenobi, is also more than willing to interpret the character in the future . This was what he commented on a talk with Entertainment Weekly:

Obi-Wan

I would like to do another [season]? Yes, I would like to do another.

Although people behind the project are more than willing to continue working in the series, at the moment there is no official confirmation about a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi. With the premiere of the sixth and last chapter just a few days away, It seems that it is only a matter of time before having a clear response .

In related issues, it seems that the series contradicts Leia’s canon. Similarly, here we tell you who Quilan is, the Jedi who was mentioned in the show.

Editor’s note:

I would not like to see a second season of obi-wankenobi. Not only is the risk of running the risk of breaking its own canon again, with a possible appearance of Darth Maul, but the story that is about telling here has come to its natural end, and extending it could ruin the experience.
