In a new blog post, the Polish developer studio CD project RED reviews the early phase of 2022. The main topics are the Next-Gen version of Cyberpunk 2077 and the next branch of the popular The Witcher series.
Cyberpunk 2077 managed to improve its public perception through the upgrade and patch 1.5 and to increase the sales figures in particular on consoles.
The studio continues to work on the improvement of the basic game, but is moving the focus on the upcoming large story expansion, which is currently playing a large part of the development capacity.
In addition, the initial research phase of the next The Witcher game has now been completed and thus the pre-production has started, as CD Project Group CEO Adam Kicinski reveals:
“We are very eager to visit the universe that has shaped our story so much. We recently completed the research phase for the first game of the new Witcher saga, which means that the expenditure for further development will now be reflected in our balance sheet. ”
