Wow: Fan runs on his treadmill from Silithus to Winterquell

Have you ever dreamed of walking through Kalimdor in real life? The Reddit user and WoW fan Thehole will now fulfill this dream with the help of Virtual Reality. He plans to run from the Gong in front of Ahn’quiraj in Silithus across Kalimdor to the destroyed bridge on the frost breath gorge in winter source – on a treadmill.

with halved in-game running pace through Kalimdor

In order to implement his project, Theehole has programmed his treadmill so that it is synchronized with an in-game video of its character, which travels the said route from Silithus to Winterquell. The speed at which the video runs corresponds to a pace on the treadmill of 11.25 km/h, i.e. half of the running speed of wow characters in the game.

The player specifies the total length of the route he wants to cover with 14.5 kilometers and a height difference of 81 meters. Accordingly, the duration of the run will be one hour, 17 minutes and 20 seconds at the specified pace, which corresponds to a new personal best time for Thehole (he previously achieved 13.6 kilometers in the same time).

We definitely find the idea pretty cool, as well as the WoW community on Reddit, which is enthusiastic about the project. Incidentally, the highlight of the project is: Theehole wants to broadcast its first running attempt as a livestream via Twitch. If you want, you can drop by the German time at 9:00 p.m. to attend the project.
